Trekking with the dromedaries

Day 1

M'HAMID - OUED NAAM

We will begin our tour on the back of a dromedary, to explore beautiful places in the desert. We will depart towards  the big Erg Chegaga dunes.  Three hours later we will stop for lunch break on a tree shade. After lunch we will cool down with some nomad tea sipping to gain back strength to keep on trekking. Three hours later,  alternating walks and dromedaries’ riding, we will put out our camp on  a dry river (Oued Naam).  Dinner and overnight stay in the camp under the stars.

Day 2

OUED NAAM - LOTIDE

In the morning, after breakfast and dromedaries’ packing with all suitcases, we will begin our trip through the desert (about 3 hours on the back of a dromedary).  We will later stop for a lunch break “in the middle of nowhere”.  After lunch we will continue our journey of discovery and exploration.  After 3 hours’ walk we will put out our tents in a wonderful place, known as Lotide.  Dinner and overnight stay under the stars or under the tents.

Day 3

LOTIDE - CHEGAGA DUNES

After sunrise and breakfast, we will continue our trekking tour with our mates (the dromedaries) towards the big Erg Chegaga dunes.  Before getting there we will have a lunch break and tea sipping in a pleasant oasis (the sacred oasis) consisting of a small group of palm trees in which a water source runs all year long letting nomads and their herds to provide for their needs.

Day 4

CHEGAGA  DUNES - BOUGARN DUNES

After a restful night in the big dunes we will return towards, M’Hamid (the desert door).  After almost three hours of dromedaries’ riding we will stop for lunch break under a tree shade.  We will later keep on our exploration tour to reach Bougarn dunes where we will be spending the night in  tent or under the starry night.

Day 5

BOUGARN DUNES - MEZOUARIA

We will get up very early to admire the sunrise. Moroccan breakfast to follow. We will continue our discovery through a vast area of dunes and stones.  Lunch will be served once more “in the middle of nowhere”.  After a refreshing mint tea cup we will continue to circumnavigate (walking or riding) towards Mezouaria dunes and spend the night under the stars or under the tents.

Day 6

MEZOUARIA - M'HAMID

We will continue our march towards M'Hamid where our adventure will come to an end.  Lunch will be served in hotel.
