Trekking in Toubkal mountain range departing from Marrakech

Day 1

ARRIVAL TO  MARRAKECH

Welcome to Morocco! You’ll be arriving to Marrakech airport and will be transferred in a typical moroccan Riad downtown.  Dinner and overnight stay in Marrakech.

Day 2

MARRAKECH - IMI - N'OUGHLAD - TIZI OUSSEM (1.850 mt)

After breakfast, we will start our scenic route towards Atlas and Imi-n-Oughiad mountains, the starting point of our adventure in the high Atlas region!  You’ll be meeting the staff members, the chefs and their sturdy mules which will stay with us for the next 5 days.  The high atlas is North Africa’s highest chain, whose peaks reach more than 4000 mt. Today we will be heading to  Tizi-n-Tacht’s pass for a lunch break.  In the afternoon we will continue our tour towards Tizi Oussem, a berber village situated in a picturesque valley.  We will be spending the night in a berber country house. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay in Tizi Oussem.

Day 3

TIZI OUSSEM - TIZI N'OUGLZIM (2.800 mt)

After breakfast, we will circumnavigate Tiziane’s valley, following the river’s itinerary towards Azib Tamsoulte and crossing berber villages, fruit orchards, fields and walnut trees forests. We will stop along the way to see a waterfall before getting back to Aglzim’s pass and its enchanting views!  Lunch, dinner and overnight stay in Aglzim (camping)

Day 4

TIZI N'OUGLZIM -  TOUBKAL CABIN (3.200 mt)

After breakfast we will continue our trekking adventure through bumpy paths surrounded by astonishing mountain scenery.  We will then head off to Toubkal cabin for the night. This will be our final resting point before reaching Toubkal highest peak and its numerous trekkers!  Lunch, dinner and overnight stay in Toubkal (cabin or camping).

Day 5

TOUBKAL CABIN- TOUBKAL - TIMLILTE (4.168 MT)

Right after a very early breakfast and before the sharp noon sun, we will be heading towards  Jbel Toubkal, the chain which includes North Africa’s highest peaks. The itinerary itself is simple but Toubkal trekking might be very difficult at times due to its abrupt slopes.  We will stop for lunch and for a deserved rest to admire breathtaking overlooks before going back to the cabin.  We will be spending the night camping out in Timlilte, a characteristic berber village.  Lunch, dinner and overnight stay in Timlite (camping)

Day 6

TIMLILTE - AROUMD - MARRAKECH

After breakfast we will start the final phase of our tour. We will descent the stony paths through almond trees valleys and the little village of  Sidi Chamharouche (with its sacred Muslim place) and Aroumd. After lunch we will separate from our trekking team and get back to Marrakech. Dinner, rest and relax with overnight stay  in a Riad in Marrakech.

Day 7

EXPLORING MARRAKECH

After breakfast we will start our day entirely dedicated to explore this exotic city with its Koutoubia mosque, its historical monuments and its fabulous main square,  Djemma el Fna. Marrakech is a  moveable feast.  We’ll be meeting in the evening to enjoy our last dinner out together.  Lunch, dinner and overnight stay in Marrakech (riad)

Day 8

MARRAKECH - AIRPORT

After breakfast, you’ll be left with enough time for last minute shopping or  a short city tour. Transfer to the airport according to flight schedule.
