4 days tour from and back to Marrakech

Travel itinerary: Ait Benhaddou - Zagora - Tamgroute - Erg Chegaga - Foum Zguid - Tazenakht

4 days, 3 nights, full board

Day 1

Early morning departure on 4x4 WD from Marrakech hotel. We will be traveling across  the High Atlas Tizi-n-Tichka with a stop in Ait Benhaddou, Morocco's most famous kasbah. Lunch in Kasbah Tamnougalte. We will continue our trip partly off road through the Draa River valley, with its countless palm trees and old Kasbahs. We will be arriving to Zagora at night time.  Dinner will either take place in a three stars hotel or in a nice Riad.

Day 2

After  breakfast we will be heading out to M'Hamid. We will Stop in Tamgroute to visit the Koran library, an underground Kasbah and to enjoy the pottery handcrafts. We will be arriving to M'Hamid for lunch. At approximately 3 p.m. we will start our 2 hours camel ride. Dinner and overnight stay under the nomads tents.

Day 3

After breakfast we will start our 2 hours camel ride in the midst of the desert (optional). Pick up at approximately 10:30 am on  4x4 WD for a journey through beautiful desert landscapes to reach the Sacred Oasis (Holy Oasis) for lunch break. The Sacred Oasis consists of a small group of palm trees surrounding a water source in the midst of the desert, running water all year long. Nomads come here with their herds for soaking. Departure at about 4 p.m. to reach the dunes of Chegaga, 15 km away. The largest group of dunes of the region reaches a 300 m height and a 40 km length. We will be spending the night under the nomad tents in the dunes. Dinner with entertainment.

Day 4

Breakfast and departure on 4x4 WD along the old Paris-Dakar road to Foum Zguid, crossing Iriqui lake. Lunch break in Taznakht. Arrival in Marrakech at approximately 6:30 p.m.
