Imperial Cities Tour

Day 1

Arrival at Menara Airport in Marrakech. Meeting with our staff and hotel transfer according to flight schedule. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Day 2

Breakfast in hotel and beginning of our adventure of exploration of the financial capital, Casablanca. Sightseeing in the "White City". Walks through the narrow streets of the Medina, the grand scale of the architectural buildings in United Square and the Hassan II Mosque, which is still being built on a rock platform in the sea. Visit to the Court House, souks and central market, the 13th century Habous district and the wealthy Cornice Boulevard of Ain Diab where villas stand side by side with corporate headquarters. Optional lunch in Mohammedia, Casablanca's popular resort playground, where restaurants are well renowned for their fish dishes. Continuation to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Day 3

Breakfast and visit to the "Imperial garden city" which begins with the Kasbah of Oudayas. Its principal gateway is one of the most beautiful in Morocco, with its 17th century palace and astonishing Andalusian Gardens. Afterwards, visit to the Hassan Tower (if completed, this mosque would have been the second largest in the Islamic world) and the extraordinary walls of the Mechouar surrounding the Royal Palace. Before reaching Meknes, short visit to Moulay Idriss, a sacred Islamic town named after Morocco's most venerated saint. Roman ruins of Volubilis to follow. Optional lunch, followed by sightseeing in Meknes, the "Moroccan Versailles". This lovely town was founded in the 17th century by Sultan Moulay Ismail and had over 50 palaces and 45 km of exterior walls. Dinner and overnight stay in Fes.

Day 4

Breakfast and full day of sightseeing. Fes is the oldest imperial city: we will be visiting the medieval Medina and religious Islamic centers, as well as the Medersas University, the Karaouine Mosque, the University (the oldest in the world) and the beautiful mosaic Nejjarin Fountain. Evening sightseeing in the famous souks of Fes. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Day 5

Breakfast and departure to Marrakech across Berber villages and towns, namely Immouzer and Ifrane, a delightful ski resort well known for its wood carving. We will be reaching Beni Mellal through the mountain regions and have an optional lunch. Dinner and overnight stay in Marrakech.

Day 6

Breakfast and whole day of sightseeing in this fascinating city. Marrakech, the "pearl of the south", was founded by the Almoravides dynasty at the end of  12th century. The city is located in the heart of a palm grove and is surrounded by snow-topped mountains. We will be spending the morning discovering the souks of Marrakech and the Djemaa El Fna square, where a famous market takes place during the day and where many entertainers perform during the night. Lunch in hotel. Afternoon visit to the lavishly decorated Saadian Tombs, Dar Si Said which houses the museum of Moroccan Arts, the Menara and Agdal city gardens, the Koutoubia (this tower is nearly 70 mt high and is visible for miles), and the Bahia Palace. Optional dinner in a typical Moroccan restaurant with folklore show.

Day 7

Breakfast and short distance trip to Essaouira, an interesting fishing town with Portuguese ramparts and white walls surrounding the city. One of main Morocco’s export goods from here are wooden objects made from thuja tree roots; we will be admiring the  craftsmen at work. In the afternoon we will be making our way back to the Red City of Marrakech, with transfer to the hotel.

Day 8

Free morning for last minute shopping or sightseeing. Transfer to the airport.
